Mission and Scope

Special Collections & University Archives (SCUA) is dedicated to preserving and providing access to records that document the history of the university, the local community, and the state of Oklahoma.

The University Archives serves as the official repository for academic and administrative records, including documents and other materials that reflect the management, operations, and mission of Oklahoma State University.

The SCUA collection development policy focuses on the following areas of concentration:

• Agricultural and Renewable Resources
• Business and Entrepreneurship
• Military Service
• Native American Artists and Authors
• Public Service
• Women's Archives

Policies

Research materials are housed in designated repositories to ensure their long-term preservation while supporting current research use. These materials require special storage, handling, and security. Researchers are responsible for complying with all applicable legal provisions, including those related to literary rights and copyright.

Governing Use

Materials from the collections may be used upon patron request. Photo identification is required prior to accessing materials in the Paul Miller Room. When working with archival materials, patrons may use pencils only and must maintain the original order of unbound materials.
